Ashley Sorenson, LCSW
About
Most people don’t come to therapy because they’ve fallen apart. They come because they’re tired of carrying so much for so long. Maybe anxiety has become your default setting. Maybe ADHD makes everyday life feel more exhausting than it should. Maybe you’re grieving, struggling in your relationships, questioning your self-worth, or simply feeling stuck. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I’m Ashley, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). I provide telehealth therapy for adults across Michigan and believe meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely understood.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and conversational. Therapy isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about making sense of what’s weighing on you, recognizing the patterns that keep showing up, and finding practical ways to move forward. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, offer honest perspective, and help you build tools that fit your life rather than expecting you to fit someone else’s idea of what healing should look like.
Over the past 15+ years, I’ve worked in emergency departments, inpatient psychiatry, medical settings, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient mental health. Those experiences have taught me that while every story is different, everyone deserves a space where they feel accepted, challenged, and supported.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, relationship challenges, workplace stress, self-esteem, life transitions, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and anger-related concerns. As an ADHD specialist, I especially enjoy helping clients better understand how their minds work so they can build on their strengths instead of constantly fighting against themselves.
As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I’m committed to creating a space where you can show up authentically and know you’ll be met with respect, compassion, and curiosity. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy—you just have to be willing to begin.
